Greetings and welcome,

My name is Stéphanie Schmidt, aka “Syf” and I am a self-taught costume designer and maker from Switzerland. As a versatile artist, my work is shaped by the world around me — through its history, culture, and nature — while also embracing the limitless possibilities of fantasy worlds, such as Tolkien’s Middle-Earth.

Passionate about art since childhood, I have explored a wide range of techniques, from drawing and crafting to leatherwork and costume making. Since 2014, I have been designing and creating costumes independently; producing unique creations for LARP events, cosplay, circuses, theatres, and bespoke clothing.

For me, the greatest joy lies in the process itself — from the first sketch to the final touches — as each costume I create is not only functional, but also dramaturgically rich and imbued with meaning that supports the character’s story.
